Treanor Life Sciences at Tradeline 2012 International Conference on Research Facilities

Treanor Life Sciences team is preparing for another Tradeline presentation. Treanor's Dale Glenn, Design Principal and Jennifer Kulseth, Laboratory Planner,  together with Dr. Glen Marotz from KU School of Engineering will be presenting on integrated engineering research facilities. The session will use the Treanor designed KU School of Engineering's new interdisciplinary research facility Materials, Measurement and Sustainable Environment Center (M2SEC). The Tradeline 2012 International Conference on Research Facilities will be in Scottsdale Arizona on April 23-24.

University of Kansas School of Pharmacy won another award: 2011 Associated General Contractors of Kansas Award of Excellence.

Treanor Sustainability Committee

Treanor Architects is proud to announce the launch of its new Sustainability Committee. The committee was formed as a grassroots effort within the company to serve as a resource and advocate for environmental sustainability. Through the incorporation of sustainable practices, educating employees and clients, and creating an environmentally responsible outreach program, this committee will address firm-wide needs in the area of environmental consciousness.

KSU Large Animal Research Center: Award Winning Design Build Project

Kansas State University's fast track Large Animal Research Center porject has won a prestigious Design Build Award. The project and the Design Build team which included McCownGordon Construction LLC, Kansas City, Mo.; Treanor Architects, Lawrence; and K-State officials, will be recognized at an awards ceremony Tuesday, Sept. 20, in St. Charles, Mo.

After one full year of occupancy, the School of Pharmacy building on the KU West Campus continues to please the students, faculty, staff and public. “This building was built with the student in mind,” Davis says. “They really did a good job making it so that you can do everything you need to do right there in that building” (Fred Davis, 5th year Pharmacy student in an article in Lawrence Journal World, August 14, 2011). Link to the full article is below.

Treanor Life Sciences hosted a very successful 1st Annual Science Facility Design Symposium at the KU School of Pharmacy building on July 28th. The three presentations included: 

  • "Demand Based Controls for Laboratories" by Gordon P. Sharp, Chairman, Aircuity, Inc.
  • "Construction Costs: Past/Present/Future" by James Vermeulens and Blair Tennant with Vermeulens Cost Consultants
  • "Laboratory Containment Equipment" by Brian Garrett and Luke Savage with Labconco Corporation.

The audience consisted of facilities personnel and design & construction management personnel from area universities, researchers and project managers from regional private companies, as well as engineering consultants, all interested in current trends in science ...
